What is the best way to get into making movies?
Finding Good Equipment for a reasonable price?
What is good editing software and is there any free help out there on the software?

Like anything else, I'd learn more about the movies that you like and go from there. There are so many styles, both actor-based and director based, that it really is starting to become all kind of homogenized as far as a craft.

There is a magazine I also recommend if you want to learn more about special effects of the Hollywood kind today, "CINEFEX" Magazine is something not to be missed. Stop by my desk sometime and I'll show you some back issues. Just really ground breaking stuff that gives "the little people" a sight into something that really is phenomenal.

I've also got a friend that directs commercials and indie films, named Car Besasie. he's been doing what you want to do since the early 90's and Im sure he could give you some valuable "I wish I would'a, knowing what I know now"s for sure.
