Just noticed that both the Free and Plus versions of Google Earth have clauses in the EULA that say that one cannot have the software installed in a commercial or business environment.

This sounds innocuous, but it basically means that you can't have the free version of Google Earth installed on your work PC, even if you are using it only for personal purposes.

This is a bit extreme, and quite a shame considering how accommodating Google has been to GNU/Linux users (Google Earth has a Linux native version available for download).

Is anyone else a annoyed by this? I use my home PC for both personal and business purposes. Does this mean that I can't use Google Earth for my own personal purposes?? I'm not about to buy a separate PC just for Google Earth...

You Could just use separate logins for business and personal that would provide a distinct difference in environment for you. -

I would like to point out that the "native version" for Linux is not really native-- last time I installed it -- but merely a windows version that runs under a modified version of wine and as such sufferers performance loss.

Open Souce is for the good of everyone.
You don't Have to live with product activation, There is always another way if you look hard enough.
