What has the world come to when Linux has product activation
As some know this is not old new but I still felt it necessary to post it here.
What has the world come to when Linux software has product activation.....
It would seem that according to LGP Linux game Publishing that piracy has gotten so bad that they are forced (all their words not mine) into adding product activation to all newly ported games. I find this a very sad have people gotten that cheep or is the company that paranoid? According to the article They preformed a sting... they uploaded a “broken version” and waited for the bug reports to come in. the claim in two weeks they had 20 bug reports and during those 2 weeks sold 30 copies of the game. This was just part of the incentive to add product activation. 1 maybe bright note What happens if the company goes under? Michael Simms (the owner) shared "If LGP dies, the last thing I will do, and all of my [development team] are authorized to do the same if for some reason I am unable, will be the creation of patches to remove the key system."
....Any thoughts?
