Hey! I was just wondering what the Nexradix crew plan's concerning Ubuntu 9.10 are.
We've tested it using Alpha 6, and have noted a few useful new features that we plan on integrating into Nexradix. We were hoping to have the major next version of Nexradix that is based on the 9.10 repositories released by October 22nd -- the retail release date for Windows 7.
Unfortunately, 9.10 will still be in release candidate stage on that date, and we prefer to base releases on stable versions only. As a result, we may just release a minor update to 1.16 to coincide with the October 22nd date, and push a full release to sometime in November.
Either way, we'll be having something out in the near future.
I'm sorry for such a late reply!
I'm looking forward to the release. Most of the bugs I've had in Karmic are gone, and I've really started missing a lot of what I had in Nexradix.
Again, thank you!
Thank you thank you. I have been using Nexradix for a couple of months and really find it designed well.
Sincerely

Another update on the Nexradix front: we've decided to hold off on a new release for at least another few weeks. Sadly, Canonical has decided to release Ubuntu 9.10 with many major regressions and issues that we'd have to work around if we used it as a base for a new version. While this isn't insurmountable, we'd rather wait a bit to see if they fix the issues upstream before trying to duplicate efforts here.
In the mean time, we're considering putting out an interim release that's still based on an updated 9.04 base (as Nexradix 1.16 currently is). Either way, something should be coming in the next few weeks.
