Wow...I'm shocked...I had no idea. I'm glad I found out from you, however. I'd hate to stumble upon such news doing a google search.

Honestly, however, we really shouldn't be suprised. It's been on for 10 years after all. With the exception of Law and Order, I don't know of any television programs still running that have been around that long.

I'm not so sure this is a bad thing, especially if you take the hints dropped in the 200th episode to heart... I think a motion picture is in the works, and I'd much rather have that than an eleventh season.

According to that announcement from SciFi, the show lasted "215" episodes. That would indicate that they are going to let the rest of this season air still. I do hope they wrap up some of the plot details, or at the very least find a way to transition them into Atlantis.

To quote the best final episode in SciFi history "all good things must come to an end"

SAVE STARGATE!!!!!!!!! Sign this petition. Yes I know it has to end sometime, but I want it to be on SG-1 terms not Scifis. How can they wrap up the ori in 15 eps and then theres the jack/sam drama they HAVE to be together!!!!

Love MacGyver, love Richard Dean Anderson.

HATED Stargate: SG1, and fell out of SG: Atlantis circles very fast.

SG1: I just can't place the disdain I have for the show. Not fast enough? Too much attention required maybe? I can't place my finger on it.

SG: Atlantis: Got me with too many wink-wink-nudge-nudge STAR TREK references, and the overt doctor-ness really hangs my beef out to dry.

Thoughts?

I have been watching Stargate SG1 religiously since the first episode on Showtime. And I have to say that I am disappointed this will be the final season. However at the same time I am relieved, because no one wants to see their favorite show going the way of Fonzi Jumping the Shark. SG1s peak was around season 6 and 7...since then we have seen a lot of recycled plot lines and new characters that are an attempt at keeping things fresh. But really lets take a que from RDA-(Richard Dean Anderson) a seasoned TV veteran and gracefully bow out when its time.

Again I am saddened by this new, but atleast the cast of SG1 will always live in our hearts and DVD collections!
