Nexradix™

Discuss Twisted Lincoln, Inc's GNU/Linux distribution: Nexradix™

Apt links

Having recently re-installed Nexradix, I went to go get Flash player. Having found the Apt-link option quite useful for installing on the latest Ubuntu, I thought I'd do it again on Nexradix. However, Iceweasel didn't understand what to do with the link and I don't know how to help it along.

Will the ability to use Apt links be possible by default in 1.18, and how could I go about working it in 1.16?

Totem or Mplayer?

I just had the thought to suggest that Mplayer be included default in Nexradix, rather than Totem (the gnome-mplayer, to be exact). I don't know if the licensing would be appropriate for Nexradix, however.

I suggest this due to Mplayers myriad of features, alongside a more fluid interface with gnome-mplayer.

Please excuse me if I'm completely missing some other factor which prompts the use of Totem.

Gnome-disk-utility

Hello, I've just switched back to Nexradix from Ubuntu 9.10. I'm incredibly pleased due to the increased speed and that tt seems some of the updates allow me, after manually installing the latest Nvidia driver, to use Compiz (I haven't been able to use it on any 9.04 based-system prior) ! It's fantastic, because I had really gotten accustomed to it.

What I miss most from Karmic, aside from the USC and the new PPA system is definitely Palimpsest, which I've learned is from the package 'gnome-disk-utility'. I tried apt-get, but apparently it's not in the repository.

Partions

Can the partition that Nexradix is installed on be made any larger.?

Will it grow on its own if you keep adding software applications?

I am unable to resize it in the partition editor. It has a keys or a lock on the side.?

Thank you for your assistance.

Sincerely,

David May

Movie Player in Nexradix

I can not get the movie player in Nexradix to work. Any time I try to play a movie I get a message that says it can not read the disk. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Iceweasel Web Browser

For first time I want to thanks to peoples who created this distribution of linux! It's very fast and stable, I love it!

... but I got a lil` problem with Iceweasel Web Browser on YouTube... is crashing every time when I want to watch at a video in Full Screen Mode... Anyone can confirm that?

PS. In firefox 3.7 a1pre everything works fine!

My own variation

Is Nexradix live or strictly installed. I haven't seen anything saying it wasn't live, so the question. I had been

toying with an idea of making my grandkids their own personal USB jump drive with it's own Operating

System. I am not a programmer but I can rebuild a computer. Since this , you say, is logo changeable and

such, would work great. No selling or anything or that sort, just a little present for them. My idea would

have their own name as the OS (sounds silly) but. If you don't have time to answer don't worry.

Ubuntu 9.10
